S.Boulardii - The probiotic yeast that saves the holidays
The gut, the pathogens and the probiotic yeast
The year is 1923..
The French microbiologist Henri Boulard is passing through Southeast Asia and finds itself in the middle of a cholera epidemic. He discovers that the locals make tea from the peel of lychee and mangosteen fruit to relieve the acute diarrhea caused by cholera, which intrigues him.
Discovery of the world's first probiotic mushroom
< p id="">Henri decided to study the fruits more closely and finds a yeast with unique properties. The world's first probiotic yeast has thus been discovered.
Henri Boulard named the yeast Boulardii after his own surname and then sold his research and patents to a French pharmaceutical company in the 50s who took the research further. Since then, Boulardii has been studied scientifically in more than 100 clinical trials and is today found in anti-diarrheal medicines in more than 90 countries worldwide.
Montezuma's Revenge
A popular epithet of a less pleasant condition; tourist diarrhea. The name is taken from the ruler of the Aztecs, Montezuma who was known for his pronounced cruelty. About 10 million tourists are affected by so-called tourist stomach annually and almost half of those who travel to tropical countries.
Infected or insufficiently prepared food and drink are the most common causes of tourist diarrhea which can be more or less extensive and something you can also suffer from of several times during his journey. It is also different from person to person how much you are affected, if you are unlucky the whole much-needed holiday can be ruined.
It is mainly the bacteria E.coli (ETEC), salmonella, shigella and campylobacter that cause problems, but parasites can also cause problems for our intestines and then for a longer time.< /p>
Effective help with Saccharomyces Boulardii
Saccharomyces Boulardii has been shown to be able to provide effective help with tourist stomach thanks to its unique ability to bind harmful bacteria in the intestinal tract and neutralize them by passing them out in the stool before they can release the toxins that create symptoms.
Probiotics 2.0 - LactiPlus Travel
LactiPlus Travel is produced by Lallemand Health Solutions, one of the world's leading companies in the production, research and development of probiotics.
The product contains a beneficial combination of both lactic acid and bifidobacteria and Saccharomyces Boulardii, which gives a product with broader properties than with lactic acid bacteria and yeast separately.
The difference that makes the difference
There is a difference between yeast and yeast and it is not always easy to know which is which. Our common baker's and brewer's yeast is called Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The probiotic yeast discovered in the 20s in Southeast Asia is called Saccharomyces cerevisiae boulardii.

The importance of eating lactic acid bacteria
Poor diet and a lifestyle with high stress expose the intestinal flora to great challenges. It is known today that the species richness and amount of bacteria in the intestinal flora is affected by how we live and what we eat, and that the greater the species richness of the intestinal flora, the better resistance we have to disease and imbalance.
The small child's important intestinal flora
The intestinal flora is established and gradually develops in different stages during these 1,000 days. Diversity and composition of the intestinal flora is affected by several factors.
Microorganisms and probiotics
The word probiotics was coined as early as 1965, but originally comes from the Greek and means "for life". The World Health Organization WHO has later defined the word and its meaning...
Assured survival and patented protection technologies
The properties and activity of lactic acid bacteria depend on their viability in the gastrointestinal tract of the host where they primarily act.
The travel company that can save the holiday.
When you travel, there is a risk that your stomach will be upset and the holiday will have to be spent on the toilet. But with the right preparations, the risk can be reduced, or completely eliminated
Upset stomach
Disturbances in the gastrointestinal tract - or "uneasy stomach" - are unfortunately a widespread problem today.
About the intestine and the microflora
The intestine is the boundary between the outside and the inside of the body and also the body's most important area for contact and exchange.
About lactic acid bacteria
Microorganisms are found everywhere on earth and in both humans and animals. In all the water, in the air we breathe and in the food we eat.

Characterization shows the special properties of the bacterial strains.
There are many different strains of, for example, Lactobacillus acidophilus, but they do not all have the same properties, but affect their environment in different ways
